Love Your Enemies

loveyourenemiesI think the two hardest things we must do as Christians involve forgiveness and loving our enemies (and I also think the two are joined at the hip). Truth is, we can’t do it on our own–it is Christ living in us that makes it possible. Where are you right now in your relationship with Jesus Christ? Are you in control or is He? Give Him first place (which means you have to get out of your own way), all the time, and He’ll give you what you need to be able to do anything that He requires–like forgiveness and loving your enemies. ~Sara’s Musings @

The Daily Way

It is easy to be good to those who are good to us. It is much harder to be good to those who harm us. However, this is exactly what Christ commands us to do. In fact, He took this thought a step further by commanding us to love those who are our enemies.

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you” (Matthew 5:43-44). Jesus admonished His followers to respond to those who hurt them with love so that His followers would become sons and daughters of God (Matthew 5:45).
